When your palate is overcome with the flavor of fresh, fair trade organic coffee you will know
that fair trade is not just about the farmer that grew it. When coffee
growing families are paid fairly, they take the time to
ensure
the quality of the coffee that they are selling. Many growers hand-pick
red ripe coffee cherries from the coffee plants, leaving the others for
when they are ready. Compare this with the mechanical coffee
harvesters which strip the plant of all beans, ready or not. The cooperatives then
prepare the coffee for export. They sell the green coffee beans at a
fair price directly to the fairtrade certified importer, who sells
the coffee to a roaster. The well cared for and properly picked
beans are treated with the respect of their origins, much like the
grapes
used to make fine wine. The roaster continues this level of respect
by roasting the beans to peak flavor and shipping them soon
after, to bring your palate the freshest tasting coffee. Compared
to other coffee there is a difference in taste and quality! With every cup of
Fair-trade Coffee you drink you support the values that brought it to
you. You support the right of children to be educated, the right of
families to not be displaced, the right of people to live with the
environment,
the right of consumers and workers to not be exposed to harmful
chemicals, and the right of the consumer to live
by their ethics.
Thank you for supporting fair trade, a better world one cup at a time.
Most certified fair trade coffee is also certified organic.
